I'll second that. Thanks, Drummer!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thanks Sera for getting it. I just seem to think there are a certain element (some newbies - some not) that come in to the playspace "knowing what you need". That's a little scary. The other factor that comes into play is those who claim to live the lifestyle '24/7', and insist on always being addressed as a Master.
I don't think you should play with anyone you have to fear.
Thanks.
@Vince: I love what you say about "get to know me and roleplay might be even more fun" (pardon my paraphrase). That is so, so true. First, it allows two people to come in respecting each other not just out of politeness but more importantly out of knowledge. Second, the more we get to know each other, the more we know what buttons to push. And us subs (the variety I know I am, at any rate) certainly push buttons, too. That's not just the top's province!
@drummer: Thanks! I thought the May munch was our best yet. Thanks, too, for bringing to the table the question that garnered so much good discussion.
What a delightful post! i certainly hope we have time to ponder and discuss more deeply some of those ideas you present here. i felt the May munch was quite successful in part because so many of us were ready to talk about WIITWD (what it is that we do).
Am I just submissive-light?
I've lately pondered that question. Unlike you, I can't take a great deal of pain and having to face the sad fact that I'm a war vet with PTSD issues, there are certain scenes that I can't be part of. I still respect those of my peers that can do full (and complicated) restraints and canes, floggers, and other instruments of torture. In some's eyes, this makes be a bad sub. Thank goodness for those who can overlook that or work around it.
Sera talks of "spankos" (like this!), and the idea of spanking, the subject, the images, sounds, and rituals, are often more integral to the turn-on than being spanked or giving a spanking. The same holds true for those of us that are into foot kink. There are oh so many different ways to engage those into feet. Some are service roles, but again, as Sera says here, much of my behavior socially in the community, at meets and munches is just good old fashioned manners and respect for others, as opposed to my percieved role as a (male) slave.
Get to know me as a person, and you may enjoy me more during roleplay even more.
